Last Haul

Well I'm pushing into the last week of my mission. It is hard to believe that this really is the end. It doesn't feel all too different from everything else that I've done these last 14 months, it just feels like the end of another transfer. I would be lying if I said I was not looking forward to seeing family and friends, some of which I have not seen for nearly 3 years which is crazy to think about. I have cherished the time I've had to serve as a missionary and I'm super grateful that I was able to return to be a full time missionary despite the obstacle of the pandemic. I welcome what comes next and I really don't have too much of an idea as to what lies ahead of me at this point. There is a lot that still is up in the air but I know that the Lord will provide.  This past week was good. Fairly normal. We were able to teach some lessons. Meet some new people. Share the gospel with others and we had some great meals provided for us.  We actually had the oppo...

The miracle of Golf

Dear family and friends,  We had a really great week this past week! We worked really hard and made a ton of contacts with people in our area and saw a lot of cool tender mercies and miracles! Elder Torgerson and I have been trying out a new style of contacting this past week and it's been really awesome. We put a different contact in for every 15 minute period during our day. Some take longer, some are shorter but it allows us to get in with some people we have not seen for quite a while.  This past week we also went golfing with Tommyee's husband David. We got special permission from our mission President to go and play with him! As many of you may know I love to Golf and so does David so it worked out and we went and played 18 holes at the course in their neighborhood. It was the first time in my life that I've actually played 18 holes and it took a lot longer than we had anticipated it was going to. We were diligent that as soon as we got done we changed and went to ...

Exchanges

Dear family and friends, This was a really good week. I'm not sure what changed but I took a lot of pictures from what we were doing this week. We did a lot this week. We went on exchanges with some elders. I got on a bike for the day and tracked the  riding of the day on my watch and it ended up being about 16 miles in total. I went with an Elder named Elder Cabrera. He's a pretty funny guy from Idaho. We had some good success in our contacts that day and met some really cool people. We shared two copies of The Boom of Mormon with people we met that day and they were both super awesome contacts. We also issued a zone wide challenge to see who could send in their best planking picture. There were some funny responses. It was a cool day. It is his first transfer in the mission so I wanted to be his first exchange. The new missionaries always have a certain light in them and fire to do the work.  Then we also had the opportunity to attend the temple with Tommyee for the f...

Brian

Howdy family and friends!  We had a good week this past week. Very busy with it being the first week of the transfer. Monday night we had one of my past companions come and stay with us and another missionary that I've served around. It was good to see them and see how they have been doing. It was the first time in my mission that I haven't gone to the transfer site which was odd, just a normal day to start off the transfer. So we got right to work on Tuesday and it was honestly a really good week. On Tuesday we had a lesson with one of our friends Brian and we showed up just wanting to talk about faith and build on that with him. We got into the lesson and we were reading in Alma 32 and he was really focused and involved with the lesson which was awesome. We read a verse and he paused and said, "I have a question" so we said alright. And brian proceeded to say, "what if I wanted to get baptized?" That was straight out of left field. So we talked to him ab...

Firm foundation

Dear family and friends,  This past week was really good! Elder Torgerson and I probably had out best 3 day period that we've ever had together. We saw many miracles and the Lord's hand was upon us in all of our labors. We welcomed in the new year with another transfer coming to a close and many changes to come but for us.... no change. Elder Torgerson and I will stay together and he will be my last companion. I'm very excited to see what miracles we will be able to see as we labor diligently for this transfer.  On Tuesday one of my good friends Elder Fullford was concluding his mission so we capped it off with some buffalo wild wings. We all ate a good amount of wings and we also all ate one of their blazin wings and it was a very spicy wing. Afterwards we went to a lesson with those elders with a miracle woman that had reached out to them on social media and that lived in our area. Her name is Michelle and she is so interested in learning more and has already taken so...
