COURAGE

Well it was a very interesting week this week here in Wilcox with a lot of different annoncements about the virus and different cancelations for the church and also the country and all that but we don't really know what's going on so we just keep going and doing missionary work and trying our best to limit direct contact with people especially the elderly and there is a lot of Elderly people who live here in Wilcox. We had a pretty successful week despite all that has been going on. We have been pretty busy so that's been good to try and keep our minds off all that's going on and Elder Hair is pretty funny so we've been having a good past week and I'm excited for the coming weeks and what the Lord has specifically for us! We had an opportuntity to do exchanges with the zone leaders this last week and I went with Elder Wright who was in Nogales with me my first 3 transfers and now he's my zone leader so we had a lot of fun and found some awesome really humble people. It was a little bit of a rainy day and we had about an hour and a half to go find in this little trailor park that's notorious in Wilcox of where all the spanish speakers went so we went there to see who the Lord was preparing to hear our message and we found some awesome people. The people here are so humble and loving to all people and it was super nice to be able to speak of the gospel and have them show true interest. The message we have is so powerful and special and i have almost finished my reading of the Doctrine and Covenants but I was reading secction 128 and from verse 19 until the end Joseph really goes off on what's taken place in the Restoration up and to that point in time and the way he words it is so powerful and his call to the memebers of the Church is in the 22nd verse saying

"Brethren, shall we not go on in so great a cause? Go forward and not backward. Courage, brethren; and on, on to the victory! Let your hearts rejoice, and be exceedingly glad. Let the earth break forth into singing. Let the dead speak forth anthems of eternal praise to the King Immanuel, who hath ordained, before the world was, that which would enable us to redeem them out of their prison; for the prisoners shall go free."

I love what Joseph chose to say to the saints at this time because it's so true. If we know that these things are true (which we can all know by faith, dilligence and patience) then what do we have to loose in sharing this beautiful message with all the inhabitants of the Earth. This is what we have, this is our call. Courage, courage is what we take and The Lord will make up the rest. This is our promise that I have seen fullfilled countless times in my life and on my mission. Fear not of the things in the world or what man can do unto you for all will be right in the Lord in the end.

We also went to the Methodist Church on Sunday and that was pretty interesting to see how they do service. We go to the bible study at the Methodist Church everyweek and they heard our church was canceled until further notice so they invited us to attend. Very cool experience. I'm thankful for the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ that we possess!

have a good week, prepare YOURSELF for conference and keep the commandments!

The miracle of Golf

Dear family and friends,  We had a really great week this past week! We worked really hard and made a ton of contacts with people in our area and saw a lot of cool tender mercies and miracles! Elder Torgerson and I have been trying out a new style of contacting this past week and it's been really awesome. We put a different contact in for every 15 minute period during our day. Some take longer, some are shorter but it allows us to get in with some people we have not seen for quite a while.  This past week we also went golfing with Tommyee's husband David. We got special permission from our mission President to go and play with him! As many of you may know I love to Golf and so does David so it worked out and we went and played 18 holes at the course in their neighborhood. It was the first time in my life that I've actually played 18 holes and it took a lot longer than we had anticipated it was going to. We were diligent that as soon as we got done we changed and went to ...

Last Haul

Well I'm pushing into the last week of my mission. It is hard to believe that this really is the end. It doesn't feel all too different from everything else that I've done these last 14 months, it just feels like the end of another transfer. I would be lying if I said I was not looking forward to seeing family and friends, some of which I have not seen for nearly 3 years which is crazy to think about. I have cherished the time I've had to serve as a missionary and I'm super grateful that I was able to return to be a full time missionary despite the obstacle of the pandemic. I welcome what comes next and I really don't have too much of an idea as to what lies ahead of me at this point. There is a lot that still is up in the air but I know that the Lord will provide.  This past week was good. Fairly normal. We were able to teach some lessons. Meet some new people. Share the gospel with others and we had some great meals provided for us.  We actually had the oppo...

Ya me voy

Dear family and friends, I received news this past saturday that I will be leaving Sahuarita and Elder Mortenson and heading back up to Tucson. We have 4 tucson zones in the mission and this will be the last one I need to serve in, east zone. I'm excited to for the change and am very optimistic about the area! I was only here for 6 weeks in this area and with elder Mortenson during his training so it will be sad to leave it all behind. This has been one of my most challenging transfers of my mission thus far and the Lord really refined and humbled me in the process, he has a way of doing that to us. I have never pleaded more for heavenly help for something beyond my own personal needs than I have in this past transfer. It truly brought me down to the lowest depth of humility and made me stand back multiple times and say, "I dont know what to do, take my hand and guide me." Each time that I was humble enough to utter that phrase the Lord guided everytime, sometimes it wa...
