After an 8 Month intermission DUE TO COVID19

Dear family and friends I have safely made it to Tucson this past monday and I couldn't be happier to be back in the mission! I was received at the airport by Elder Riches and Elder Wurtz and spent the day with them and my new mission president and his wife. We ended the night with a devocional at the home of the temple president and it was an awesome ending to the day.   The next day I got my new comanions, Elder Medina and Elder Freeman. We're serving in West Tucson in the El Rio ward. They have both been here for some time and we're getting a little bit of a fresh start this transfer so we're looking forward to what is to come. This week we've done a lot of talking with people and contacting and have seen good success. It's super interesting to not be able to knock doors but there are so many other ways to find the elect. There are many people here prepared for the message that we have and it is awesome how open others are during this Christmas season. I...

Transfer NEWS

We'll another transfer comes to a close here in the Arizona Tucson mission and I got some very suprising news, I will be going home. Our mission President callled us out of the blue on Thursday and informed me that the mission department put out some new information pertaining to individuals using certain immunosuppressive medications that will need to go home until this passes and I am included in that group sadly. It was very sudden but the Lord comforted me very much in assuring me that this is his will for me for the time being. I'm saddened to leave the mission I have loved so much for the last 9 months but know the Lord is preparing me for bigger and better things.  I'm so grateful that my last week in this part of my mission service was Easter. As I said last week I made the goal along with my family to read the last week of Christ's life in the 4 gospels of the bible. This puts everything into perspective. Christ suffered physically, spirutally, mentally a...

El Libro de Mormon

Well it was a another very good week here in Willcox! We honestly had a lot of things to do through out the week. We had a service 6 of the 7 days this week and after service we would come home and read The Book of Mormon. We did many different service projects this week for many people. We moved some railroad ties, unloaded gravel, mowed 3 foot tall weeds, weed wacked different 3 foot tall weeds, used a wood chipper, used a hydrolic wood splitter that a member made and stripped a roof. We had a lot of fun doing all these different projects and helping people in the process and hopefully being able to lift their burdens a little bit during this trying time. We would then come home and usually read The Book of Mormon until the end of the day so that we could achieve our goal of finishing by friday before general conference and we both finished! It was a completely different experience this time for me. Reading at such a speed in a different language it really felt like a different b...

Pues, Mis amigos estan en casa??

Hello everyone, we had another good week out here in Wilcox and being honest the quarentine really hasn't been that bad. Elder hair and I have found good ways to use our time and the days honestly feel like they're flying by and that we don't have enough time. We have been doing a good amount a service, playing basketball, reading the scriptures, listening to conference talks and just talking to one another. It's been an enjoyable couple weeks and i don't think we could've chosen a better area to be other than Wilcox during all of this. the members keep us up to date with all the food we could possibly need and then some, today at the store we only bought milk and water because that's all we needed. We have been eatting well and continuing with our goal to read the book of mormon in spanish by Conference and have made some good ground since last week, i made it to the book of heleman yesterday and i am learning so much reading the book of mormon in this mann...

WELP

WElp it's been a pretty crazy week out here in the mission field. Monday I got called and my mission President said I'd be going home which was pretty sad but after talking with the mission department, my parents and doctors I get to stay out here so that's pretty lucky! We have been updated slowly but surely on the announcements from the Church and Nation on the steps being taken to prevent and stop this virus and it's pretty crazy all that's going on. This week and transfer combined we will loose 50 missionaries. Many have already left with their parents picking them up and many are being called home a couple transfers early and it sounds like we may get a large influx of new missionaries from all over the world so that will be interesting but the Lord has been preparing us for this and that is where my confidence lies is in my Lord my God. In this whole week, through all that has taken place he has spoken a constant peace to my heart and soul with the utmost conf...

COURAGE

Well it was a very interesting week this week here in Wilcox with a lot of different annoncements about the virus and different cancelations for the church and also the country and all that but we don't really know what's going on so we just keep going and doing missionary work and trying our best to limit direct contact with people especially the elderly and there is a lot of Elderly people who live here in Wilcox. We had a pretty successful week despite all that has been going on. We have been pretty busy so that's been good to try and keep our minds off all that's going on and Elder Hair is pretty funny so we've been having a good past week and I'm excited for the coming weeks and what the Lord has specifically for us! We had an opportuntity to do exchanges with the zone leaders this last week and I went with Elder Wright who was in Nogales with me my first 3 transfers and now he's my zone leader so we had a lot of fun and found some awesome really h...

WILCOX

Well They finally got Elder Holman out of Nogales after 7 1/2 months. I was really hoping president would call and change his mind but they made me leave sadly. It was good to say goodbye to everyone and will be awesome to visit again one day Nogales Arizona is a beautiful place with some awesome people. I'm here in Wilcox, Arizona and it's been a big change. Not many people only around 3,000 but it's a great place. The members are so involved and love missioanry work so that's been really awesome. The leadership just knows the importance of this work and the rest of the wards and branches follow after. I'm so excited to work here in Wilcox because I've already seen in a week that the Lord has been preparing people to recieve this message for along time. The lord blesses his servants and works along side them. In Jacob 5 it talks of how labourers worked in the vineyard but in the following verse it talks about how the Lord of the vineyard worked along side them....

Me voy

I'm out of Nogales, it was a good run but they're sending me north. It was a interesting week with everything that took place. We had exchanges and I went with Elder Neff and it was a good time we had a lot of good lessons and learned alot from one another. I had surgery on both my big toes to cut down the part that was ingrown and that was pretty interesting to see. Went up to tucson later that day and Elder Midyette graduated from his training and we got to see a few Elders out there so that was pretty fun! Lots of good lessons and goodbyes with those that were teaching here in Nogales. We got transfer calls and I'm going to Wilcox which is a really small town north of Tucson with Elder Midyettes MTC companion named Elder Hair. I'm really excited to be able to work with him and help the people of Wilcox I've heard really good things about him. Said a lot of my goodbyes and took some pictures. We dont have enough wifi so I wont be able to attach any of them this we...

Light and truth

A great week out here in Nogales. I do not have a ton of time today because max actually for special permission from his mission president that we can call one another today which will be awesome and the first time since i left the MTC in July so I'm very excited to hear from him! This week was awesome and weve been having some awesome lesson, seeing some awesome miracles and I've had some great studies this week. My testimony of the truth of these things has grown so much bu the power of the holy ghost showing that which is correct and from him (light and truth) and that which is false and of the interpretations of man and lack of faith. We had many people come at our religion this last week in many different forms and ways qnd love to try and prove it wrong by their own interpretations and knowledge of the scripture and their unchanging opinion. They use not faith nor the power Gods given to us to know all light and truth, the Holy Ghost. I have recieved so many confirmations...

The Lord will provide

This week was super awesome. It had it's ups and down but the Lord gave to us in our times of need and showed his hand in administering many blessings on Elder Midyette and I. This week was a little crazy with Zone conference because for us it takes out our whole day and makes it so we cannot do anything all day which stinks and throws off our teaching for the week but the Lord made up for us this week. We have been working really hard lately and doing alot of finding because sadly the three best people we were teaching all moved to other places which is too bad but thats the lords plan for them!  This week we saw many miralces for our efforts with finding. We recieved a call from one of the really solid members in the spanish ward asking us if we could go teach a lesson about prayer and fasting. We accepted and set up the lesson for Saturday night. We showed up a little late but he was waiting outside for us and we went in and his whole family was waiting inside for the lesson...

El exito del señor

This was a really good week, lots of things changed and the Lord blessed us very much. We found out that Mary was moving to Pheonix which was too bad but was another exidence of the Lord constantly nurturing and blessing his Children with what we need to grow and come closer to him. My testimony has grown so much over these last couple months of teaching here and seeing the huge change that a knowledge of the restored gospel has made within her and also the change in perspective she has had. I know the Lord sent her down to recieve this message and to prepare and nurture her testimony. This next chapter of her life is what the Lord has planned for her now! Much has changed about her but the biggest thing is the joy and hope she's found through Jesus Christ and the knowledge that his church is here upon the Earth again and that we have a living Prophet and the Preisthood to make it possible to recieve the neccesary ordinances to be saved! Lots of hope and joy was left in our l...

Quick update

This week was a really good week qnd que saw many miracles. A missionary needs a haircut so kinda short on time but all in well here in Nogales. I've almost been here for 6 whole months which is kinda crazy but I'm so glad to still be here working with the great members and people that the lord has here. We had a cool miracles atchurch yesterday of the three people that teach that live within a mile of the church all came for the first time in forever and we only invited one of them! One of them participated a lot in the class and it was all about the book of mormon but he just kept relating it to the bible it was pretty funny! The spanish people always get so into the classes so it was getting crazy Haha and I feel like he will start coming every week because he liked it so much! It was a good week and the lord is blessing us. I learn so much everyday and love the time I get to read the scriptures prayerfully and be guided by the holy ghost. Have a great week! Elder Ho...

La obra

Another great week in the work of the lord. It was a week with a lot of big things that took place. Were kinda in a crazy day right now. Were up in Tucson because I had a doctors appointment so we changed our preparation day and we went to the temple which was awesome. Were currently outside of top golf. Its gonna be a busy day so I'll keep it short. This week was really awesome, we saw lots of success with the people were teaching and had many great lessons. The lord blessed us with energy on the bikes and we saw many miracles of being on the bikes! The Gil family surprised us at church which was an awesome surprise. They came to hear elder Midyette and I speak and were super nice and said that we did a good job and went and found us before they left to say goodbye. Such awesome people here prepared by the lord!  We also had elder uchtdorf come to our mission which was so awesome to be able to hear the power and testimony of an apostle of the lord. He had a powerful testim...
