¡Near miss!

Fun week down here in Nogales, went up and got my new companion elder ramierez Tuesday up in Tucson. Hes from Mexico city, mexico and likes music and can play basically every instrament it's kinda crazy. He has a college degree in batraía which is the drums so that's pretty cool. This week we basically only did service and had lessons it was a pretty crazy week for missionary work and the Lord really blessed up this week with great people to teach and the work really is progressing.

We were able to start really teaching two people we hadn't been able to contact in a while one named Mary and the other Vianey and this week they both progressed so much!

We taught Alma 32 with both of them, so once in Spanish and once in English. It allowed me to take a step back and see how I could apply this in my life because the scriptures are here so that we can apply their messages in our own lives. The part of Alma 32 that we really took a focus on was where is compared faith to a mustard seed, something very small but with time, diligence and effort it can become even as a great tree. This message has so much power in these lessons and really resignated with both of these woman as we talked and the spirit taught them. It kinda made me think about my mission because it is awesome but there are days that are hard. As I continue to grow my seed and deepen my roots the lord will bless me and allow me to be better each day as I remain faithful, work hard and help others I can be blessed. I know this doesn't just apply to me or to missioanry work but i promise that we can all grow our mustard seed and faith in whatever we struggle with as we ramain faithful and diligent because I have seen the fruits of this promise so much on my mission and in my life as I continue faithfully trusting in God and do my part he will bless you!

Well I have a really funny story that I can't not share that happened this week. This week like I said we had a lot of service and this Saturday we went and helped this old couple move out of their apartment into a uhaul that they rented. The guy wanted to take the giant uhaul into a parking spot in this tiny apartment building parking lot so from the beginning it seemed like something bad was going to happen. Well he was pulling it around and we had a missioanry at each corner trying to guide him but he couldn't really look at all of us so we was backing up and hit the thing hanging over cars in the back so he started pulling forward and Elder Wright told him to stop do it slowed down for a second until out of no where he just floored it forward and slammed into the car in front of him and then the tires started burning out trying to go forward so we were pretty darn confused and after like 8 seconds he stopped and moved back a little then jumped out of the car to look at the damage and somehow nothing happened to the car and he told us he thought it was the break because it cant feel his feet which is concerning for someone who's driving to texas Haha but he just acted like nothing happened and we helped him move. So if anyone if I between Arizona and texas watch out for a big uhaul haha.

Thank you all for all that you do for me in my mission I hope you all have an awesome week!

The miracle of Golf

Dear family and friends,  We had a really great week this past week! We worked really hard and made a ton of contacts with people in our area and saw a lot of cool tender mercies and miracles! Elder Torgerson and I have been trying out a new style of contacting this past week and it's been really awesome. We put a different contact in for every 15 minute period during our day. Some take longer, some are shorter but it allows us to get in with some people we have not seen for quite a while.  This past week we also went golfing with Tommyee's husband David. We got special permission from our mission President to go and play with him! As many of you may know I love to Golf and so does David so it worked out and we went and played 18 holes at the course in their neighborhood. It was the first time in my life that I've actually played 18 holes and it took a lot longer than we had anticipated it was going to. We were diligent that as soon as we got done we changed and went to ...

Last Haul

Well I'm pushing into the last week of my mission. It is hard to believe that this really is the end. It doesn't feel all too different from everything else that I've done these last 14 months, it just feels like the end of another transfer. I would be lying if I said I was not looking forward to seeing family and friends, some of which I have not seen for nearly 3 years which is crazy to think about. I have cherished the time I've had to serve as a missionary and I'm super grateful that I was able to return to be a full time missionary despite the obstacle of the pandemic. I welcome what comes next and I really don't have too much of an idea as to what lies ahead of me at this point. There is a lot that still is up in the air but I know that the Lord will provide.  This past week was good. Fairly normal. We were able to teach some lessons. Meet some new people. Share the gospel with others and we had some great meals provided for us.  We actually had the oppo...

Ya me voy

Dear family and friends, I received news this past saturday that I will be leaving Sahuarita and Elder Mortenson and heading back up to Tucson. We have 4 tucson zones in the mission and this will be the last one I need to serve in, east zone. I'm excited to for the change and am very optimistic about the area! I was only here for 6 weeks in this area and with elder Mortenson during his training so it will be sad to leave it all behind. This has been one of my most challenging transfers of my mission thus far and the Lord really refined and humbled me in the process, he has a way of doing that to us. I have never pleaded more for heavenly help for something beyond my own personal needs than I have in this past transfer. It truly brought me down to the lowest depth of humility and made me stand back multiple times and say, "I dont know what to do, take my hand and guide me." Each time that I was humble enough to utter that phrase the Lord guided everytime, sometimes it wa...
