Elder Pieper

This was a really good week, probably one of the best weeks of my mission up to this point. We had a member of the presidency of the Seventy come and visit the mission named Elder Pieper. We had many enlightening meeting with him throughout the week about simple eternal principles that we can apply in out lives as missionaries and also disciples of Jesus Christ. We also saw many miracles and if all goes as planned our friend Sanahin will be getting baptized tomorrow!  This past week I had mentioned that we received a call from a lady named Eliza that has a desire to be baptized. We were able to meet with her this past Tuesday and get to know her a little better, she is really awesome. She doesn't know too much about God but is very eager to learn more about Him and His goodness. She actually came to church yesterday she was about 15 minutes early and she really enjoyed it!  Another cool experience we had this week was last week we reached out to someone who has previous...

The Lord will provide.

I do not have too much time today but I wanted to write a quick email to talk a little about what has happened during the past week here in Tucson. I'm still in the YSA 5th ward serving on the campus of the University of Arizona (sorry to all the sun devil fans in the family). I've really enjoyed the area and we have a few people that are really starting to progress, keep commitments and see the growth that comes through Christ and his gospel. This past week was actually graduation here on campus so it was a moment of celebration throughout the campus. Many families celebrating this achievement with their children. We were able to meet a lot of cool people from all over and learn a little bit from them. I'm really enjoying my times here in the ward and area and have really been able to recognize my purpose being here with the people we've met and that were teaching. I don't have much time but all is well here. Have a good week, seek truth and come unto Christ!  El...

Mass

Another great week here in North Tucson in the YSA 5th ward. The week really flew by. It's pretty crazy that P-day is already here again and that we're already a week into the month of May!  We had a lot of good lessons with the people that we're teaching and it's been really cool to see people keep the commitments that we give them and see the fruit that comes from reading and applying the scriptures in our lives. We had a really good lesson with our friend Joel this week and the last week we had left him with the invitation to read in 1st Nephi chapter 8 and a little card with all of the articles of faith. we expected him to maybe read a little bit of the chapter and then some of the articles of Faith but when we came back he read all of BOTH! I was blown away. He kept both of the commitments, took notes and had questions. It was amazing! He really had been touched by the spirit and had taken the invitations that we gave him seriously.  It was a really fun week....

Seek Light

It has been a few busy weeks here in the YSA 5th ward and I'm really enjoying the work. We've been able to meet some really cool people in the last few weeks and we've seen a lot of progress with many of the people we're teaching. It has been really intetesting contacting people that are my age and adjusting the ways that I direct the conversations we have with other people. It's cool to be able to talk to people that are so unfamiliar with talking openly about spirituality and God and their perspectives on life.  The new transfer was two weeks ago and it's been good to be with Elder Waltman in my first duo since I've been back. we've been working hard. I also did an exchange with Elder Riches before he left to the Gila Valle and it was really cool to be able to work with him and do missionary work together. I love that guy so much and he's alwasy been sucha good example to me before and during the mission.  So much has happened in the last two wee...

YSA 5th ward

Week one in an english area as a missionary. well it hasn't been a full week yet but we're a few days into this whole ordeal. It has been a big adjustment and change from the spanish wards I've served in the rest of my mission. We have met so many diverse people with different backgrounds and perspectives on life and the gospel of Jesus Christ. Some are respectful, others are not. Some want to talk to us, MANY do not, but we persist and continue doing the lords work. There are many cool and intersting people that we've met and it has shown me that the gospel of Jesus Christ is for everyone. It has also shown me that this is not an easy path to follow, it has shown me that there are many paths that from the worlds perspective are the better route. This reflection has called me back to when Christ called his deciples to take up their cross and follow him. I have reflected on this symbolism and it has shown to me what it means to follow Jesus Christ. It requires us to sa...
