Follow the spirit

Another great week here in Tucson. I do not have much time but there are a few things that I feel inspired to share today in this email.  This week was not like other weeks. The majority of the people we've been teaching for the time that I've been here have been extremely busy and the amount of lessons we taught this week was much lower than in weeks past. It took adjusting but in this adjusting I was able to learn lessons that I believe truly will change my mission and my life.  I gave a good amount of study and thought this week to the conversion story of a catholic seminary student to the church. I gained so many different insights in prayerfully looking over this mans conversion into how I can be a better servant of the lord. He recounts his conversion to the church and the events that took place leading up to and following his conversion. This man is a spiritual giant and the lord was in the details of his life and his journey to the church. One of the greatest le...

New transfer

T he start of a new transfer and with that comes a lot of change. Change is something I've become accustom to as a missionary. Every six weeks and sometimes sooner change is going to come in some way or another but you learn to adapt, make the best of each situation and learn from the current cards you've been dealt. Luckily as missionaries these changes come by inspiration, the mission President prayerfully ponders on with whom and where each missionary's needs to be and by the revelation that he receives he assigns companions and to a given area in the mission. I know the Lord has a purpose for my current companions and myself here in West Tucson and we saw so much of that this week.  This week was an interesting week and took many unexpected twists and turns but it was very enjoyable and I was able to learn so much from the situations that we confronted and the many studies we did. We also had the opportunity to do an exchange with the zone leaders...

goodbye Elder Medina

Another week has come and gone and with that another transfer is here. We got news this week that Elder Medina will be leaving the area and that Elder Jones and I will be getting a new companion named Elder Law. I am sad that Elder Medina is leaving but I look forward to see how much he is able to grow in his new area, he will be teaching mostly in English. I learned so much from Elder Medina and he was more than helpful with helping me get my spanish back to where it was previously.  It was a fairly normal week but also a lot of random and unexpected things took place and that made the week go by very qucklily. The weeks honestly seem to just fly by, and often I find myself so focused on the things that are going to come in the future and the events that have taken place in the past that often I fail to appreciate the present circumstances I am in. There was a video put out by the church this last week and it is a really well done and well produced video about a man and his...

FAST WEEKS

Another fast week here in Tucson, it's crazy to think that another week has come and gone and that it is already the last week of the transfer. This week was amazing, we had many wonderful lessons and were able to meet many amazing, and interesting people here in west Tucson! We had so many interesting experiences with the people that live here this week, there are so many diverse types of people in Tucson. This week I was also able to participate the baptism of the little girl that I interviewed last week. Her grandfather ended up not being able to baptise her and she asked if I could do it. She is such a pure, beautiful little girl and it was such an awesome experience to be able to participate in her baptism. It will always leave a huge impression on me the smile that she wore that whole day. She looked like she was truly happy and that nothing could have wiped the smile off her face that day. The spirit that I felt that day and the focus the Lord puts on baptism lead me to fo...

Zone Conference

Another great week here in the ATM and it got off to a crazy start. On tuesday we started our working zone conference which is the new way that we're doing zone conference, basically we receive instruction on tuesday from the missionary leaders and then go out on a full zone wide exchange. I was able to go into an english area with Elder green and elder Stucki, they are both really awesome missioanaries who speak portugues and I speak spanish but that did all of that did nothing for us when we taught a man that only spoke french! His name was Yakuba and he did not speak much english so just basically just french and my ability to only say my name did not help me very much in teaching  about The Book of Mormon but it was a very cool and humbling experience, hopefully he is able to get some missionaries that speak french here soon.  Zone conference was an awesome spiritual outpouring and I felt the spirit so strongly receiving instuction from President Grisel and the other missi...
