All is coming in it's own time

Another great week down here in Nogales, Arizona. To be honest this was probably the best week of my mission so far for many reasons but specifically: seeing people change by the gospel, finishing the book of mormon, the work BOOMING, exchanged with the Zone leaders, people actually coming to church, and seeing my growth in the language. All of which i will go unto more detail on. Starting with seeing people change by this gospel and by the power of Jesus Christ and his atonement. We are teaching a young man who is addicted to Cristal meth and cigarettes and it was really not worth it to teach him before because he'd always be high but we read chapter 89 with him and talked about the word of wisdom and its blessings. We promised him strength to overcome his addiction when he prays and reads the scriptures and that we' visit him everyday at 2 to check up on him. Never have I seen so much of a change in someone in three days than I did with him in these three days where we tau...

Crazy Walnuts

Another great week down here in beautiful Nogales. The weather is really starting to cool down and the work is really starting to heat up haha Cant believe I just typed that but it happened and it's pretty true. We had a pretty crazy start of the week with transfers and the other elders do not have a car so we spent a little bit on bikes and got a new Elder down here who is newer than I from Holladay, Utah. He is really good at spanish though because he did dualimersion in school which pretty cool and helpful to have another person to help me with the spanish.  AFter all the craziness we've been doing a lot of teaching and finding the elect who have been preparing for this gospel message of the restoration! We have been really progressing with Raul and extended a babtismal invitation to a lady that said maybe another day which is too bad but she just wants to learn more. Raul is really progressing and we are seeing the affect that the gospel has on him, his decisions, and...

La caridad nunca deja

Another week down here on the frontera! Today is actually la día del independencia para México, so were going down to the border to see if we can see anything crazy happening on the other side ahha but it's been an awesome week for the work of God. We see countless milagros cada semana aqui and it's always so awesome to see the lords hand en nuestras vidas y en tu obra. We have been teaching this man named sergio since I have gotten here who is working on the border for the national guard who was inactive but wants to be reactive in the church but his whole life hes worked Sunday and couldn't go to church, but as soon as he started reading the scriptures, praying, and turning towards god he was just recently told that the day that he has off now is Sundays! Pretty darn cool to see how much the lord loves each and everyone of his children. This idea had been a huge topic for me this week in my studies and just thinking about is that we are all children of our heavenly father...

¡Monsoon!

Well another grand week down here in Nogales the work is going awesome. We have many people progressing and working towards their covenant path! Nothing has touched me more than seeing how many people the gospel touches and and how great it makes our lives. It has grown my testimony so much to see these great families down here that are so happy and close with the foundation of the gospel. I also have seen the lord work on those who do not have it and are seeking out its blessings. We have many investigators with no prior knowledge of the gospel and it's awesome to watch someone go from no knowledge about these things and in such a short amount of time have such an interest and love for the scriptures, prayer, and following jesus christ and his example. This week as a theme I felt that I was learning about having faith and christ chastening us to bring us closer to him. This stuck out to me in Jacob 5, Isaiah 5, and ether 12. The first two are about the gathering and scattering of ...

¡La fe en Jesucristo!

Well another week in the books and it was a good one. Very busy and a lot of missionary work going on which is always a good thing . Kinda flys by and is hard to think of the things that stuck out but I'll share what I can!  This week we had a huge break through with a kid we've been teaching for a while! We went over one night to the familys house that we've been teaching for a while. No one was really progressing and we even almost dropped them but we went over Wednesday and talked to the mom and her son Raul kinda just catching up. Then Raul who is about 12 said that he read in "the book" ( the book of mormon) and said that he felt a lot happier after. Then he said he did this a couple more times that week and everytime he said he felt much happier and had piece and we'd never heard anything like this from him so it was pretty crazy. Since then we've had three other lessons with him, each being better than the last and he really gets it. It's re...
