Week 5 !El ultima Semana En La CCM!

I t is the last week in the MTC! Our whole district got our travel plans for Monday and I'll be heading out with Elder Riches and a few others I've met along the way, I have still yet to have met anyone going Spanish speaking to my mission but that's alright i'm pumped to meet them all! The bus picks us up at  the MTC and its only 12 hours to Tucson!   It honesty feels like the home stretch right now, it's like we're graduating from high school and moving on once again which is always fun but sad. I have developed such a strong love and relationship with each and every elder and Hermana in my district and great is my love of god for the experience I've had in the MTC. Never have I ever seen gods hand better in my life or the teachings of the spirit more often than this time I've had in the MTC. I've loved every high and low and the lessons I've learned in both and I've seen so much growth in myself spiritually and in the language in th...

WEEK 4 ¡Devin Durrant!

Well it's already been a month and the time here is flying by you've all heard the saying the days are long but the weeks are short and that is the truth! This week has been pretty awesome for a lot of reasons we had our last TRC visit with Olivia and it was really awesome I actually said some things in spanish that I think made some sense and we invited her to church (which requires you to use future tense!!) And we think she went well really never know sadly! Sunday we had normal church and had our last Sunday with our branch president President bankhead who i really liked but its alright because our new branch president it honestly a beast, hes Devin Durant. If you dont know who that is hes basically the jimmer of the 1980's he played for the suns and Pacers in his NBA career which is crazy! Hes talked in conference three times (once as a 21 year old return missionary) he was a mission president in the dallas texas mission which is where the...

Week tres Sleepy Elders

Well I'm over the midway jump here at the MTC and on the way to el campo in three short semanas! I'm really starting to get into my own groove here at the MTC I love everyone in my district and zone I love hearing other people's reasons for serving a mission and everyone has their own reason but they all are centered on a love and desire to serve jesus christ and to gather his sheep. We had three more lessons with Olivia our friend of the church and the first two were pretty rough she talks really fast in spanish and a lot of what we said to her we just had written down but our lesson on Monday my companion and I had our lesson plan but didn't write out any phrases and just went for it. The spirit was so strong in that room for those 25 minutes and we could really see her interest in our message about the restoration it was awesome and we even got her to say the closing prayer and invited her to pray to know if the things we were telling her were true. My companion and ...

¡el valor de las almas es grande a los ojos del Señor!

How's it going everyone? Week two of the MTC is in the books! Things have been going great here I love my district more than i ever thought I would the first week and we are all doing this together! We had our first TRC which is where you teach in all spanish but this one we only got to know the people well teach for five minutes and we met 5 people so it was 25 minutes of spanish and I don't think I've ever had five more fun conversations. I could feel the spirit so strong helping me to say the things I needed to and knowing what these people were trying to communicate to me and I even understood a joke well enough to laugh and that was my goal or the MTC which is awesome to say! We teach our first lesson tonight about the doctrine of christ specifically faith in christ and repentance! But this week we had the opportunity to hear from elder Zwict and elder Anderson of the 70 booth shared powerful and simple principles that all should know. Elder Zwict talked about maki...

Week 1: Dios siempre escucha nuestras oraciones

Hola hermanos y hermanas!  One week is in the books! The MTC is an interesting experience and everyone describes it very well that it kinda sucks until you make it to your first Sunday or P-day and luckily for me it was only untilSunday. It's very hard at the start because you don't know anyone very well and you just met the person you have to be around 24/7 for the next 6 weeks so it's kind of hard the real hardest thing though was they instantly start speaking mostly spanish which if you don't know spanish is very hard to listen to for a three hour class and I just didn't feel like I'd ever learn it or make any friends when I first got here but I continued to pray and ask for help and if you translate the title it says "god always listens to our prayers" one of the phrases we are having to memorise and the first couple days I questioned if that were true but Sunday came around and I found the power of that phrase and the truthfulness that is in it....
